Biography

I love to draw!  As I child I was fascinated with the detail I saw in everything.  I grew up in Northern Michigan, surrounded by the beauty of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, immersed in nature and wildlife.  Along with my grandpa’s library of artists’ works and biographies I drew and painted to my heart’s content from favorites of Michelangelo and Rembrandt.

As a young adult my time transitioned to academics, youth work, marriage, and parenting.  However, when our fourth child was born, drawing and painting couldn’t wait any longer.  Art has refreshed places in my heart that nothing else could.  The ‘arts’ are a language of their own and the hobby that flourished for a season has become a passion in my life.
